We went on the southern Caribbean tour of Dawn Princess Cruises to celebrate our anniversary. The travel was a present from our three children.
We have travelled twice on Dawn Princess before and really enjoyed it. In fact there were some little things, that wat not perfect at all but they are not from the importatnt ones. For example the coffee they served was not very good, but the food was delicious, so we lived throu this. My husband always tried to persuade me to stop the coffee, so he was glad about that.. I love pastries and sweets and my husband prefers salt biscuits, but we both have ever loved the food on ship. In fact the menu has not changed since we went on Dawn Princess in 1995 and 1999 but we both hink this is a plus.
In the first day of our journey we just sailed, but fortunately there was lot of free seats to find and to see the waves. It's very soothing and pleasent occupation, something like meditation. You begin look at the things more optimistic and to feel the joy of life.
This day we begun to know the other travellers. I always wonder of the variety of people and nationalities on board. We met some interesting pairs with whom we chated until very late.
The first place we visited was Trinidad. Unfortunately I can not say anything positive about the city. It is unpleasant, but we knew it, so we spent just two hours on shore. I’d love the ship to stop in Tobago instead of Trinidad, but, however. A good thing is that one can buy some quality goods at a good price, but it is not necessary, so it depends.
The second day we arrived in Barbados, where, due to a technical problem, which took us three or four hours, the staff had to reschedule the tour plans and as a results our time to visit the city was reduced. However, it was not a serious problem, because we just went shopping. The port was reconstructed since we last visited it.
The third day we went to Antigua, we loved the beaches, the island is really delighting. We used the transport the ship organised, which saved us several hours. The restaurants and coffees on beach were really excellent. I had to notice the incredibly beautiful views from the beach. My husband went snorkeling at Trunk bay, but I prefer snorkeling at Buck Island, because it is rally unbelievably spectacular. Som of our new friends maked me a company and we spent a wonderful time together.
The service at the ship was very good, I could say even perfect. We could have everything we wanted, we only had to ask for it. The dishes we had were larger than at other ships we visited previously. We could relax at the pool area, where even food was served.
There was a casino on board and we met some Americans who won $400 at their first try. Several art auctions were organised at the ship. There was a photo gallery too. The disembarking was very easy and after we caught the plane, we arrived home safe and sound.
The trip won’t be our last Princess Cruise. We were very content. Unfortunately , the friends we find during this trip were from Brazil (much far from Italy), so we agreed to make one more cruise travel together.
