My husband and I have been on Marco Polo cruise once before. That's why we wanted to travel again on it - we have wonderful memories. We took some friends with us on our second Marco polo cruise. Our friends have never cruised before (that's why we choose a short trip), so I was little worried about how they would find the cruise and very exited to share their first experience. I was very delighted that they just loved the trip and became fans of cruising at the end.
Every thing was very well organised, we could go on excursion on board, and the ship didn’t leave before the staff was sure that every one of the passengers is on board.
The staff was very friendly, very pleasant. Something, that surprised me nice was, that they called us by names and always asked how do we do. This was very familiar and made us feel as with friends. The food was tasty and various. My husband is a diabetic and he found the food very healthy. The waiters were superb, they were not very visible, but always around us when we needed them. Every night the headwaiter presented the special dishes, which we could take.
The recreations were very well organised, around the swimming pool, in the casino and two night-clubs, where several bands performed. Jazz lovers could be satisfied, the performing band, Jose Madureira’s Band, were really professionals.
I strongly recommend the excursions on shore. Organised excursions are best, because the time is very successfully scheduled. Our friends were very content, they have never travelled on this destinations and were impressed. The cabins and the cabin stewards were very helpful and polite, they really took care about us, without being rude or insolent. Most of the people on board were repeat travellers, as we were. This means that the cruise really worth because it is a little bit unusual to repeat the same travel. Our friends and we are looking forward to another cruise for Christmas.
